Today was John's birthday. It was pretty low-key, but I wanted to make sure we at least took him out to dinner. We hung around the house most of the day, and then headed to Chuy's for dinner. Dinner was delicious, and Kinley was well behaved! It was a good day, even though it wasn't a huge celebration.

Round Rock Express Game
Today, we drove up to Austin to go to a Round Rock Express game. A few weeks ago, Katie and Brent said they were trying to get a big group together to go to a game. We thought it would be fun to take Kinley. They ended up getting a bunch of free tickets from one of my mom's cousins who works for Budweiser.
We stopped at Katie and Brent's, where we were staying for the night, to drop off our stuff and stretch our legs a little bit. Then, we headed to the ballpark for some tailgating. Brent and Katie brought their grill out, and grilled some delicious sausages. We had a nice shady spot, so we sat around eating and visiting. Earlier in the week when we went to the Carter's store, my mom bought matching outfits for Kinley and Emily to wear. I tried to get a good picture of them, but I just couldn't get them in the same place, standing still. They both wanted to run around and explore.
After we cleaned up all the food, we headed for the ballpark. This baseball experience was definitely different for me. I honestly have to say I wasn't able to pay much attention to the game, because Kinley consumed most of my time. We still had a great time. Luckily our seats were in the shade. It was still fairly warm, but at least the sun wasn't shining down on us. We enjoyed doing something different with Kinley. They had a fireworks show after the game. Kinley seemed unsure at first, but then she watched and enjoyed the lights.
We got back to Katie and Brent's house pretty late. I gave Kinley a quick bath and put her to bed. The rest of us sat up visiting for quite a while before we all crashed, too. We had a fun night!
The next day, we got up and hung around Katie and Brent's house. Cory went to play golf with my uncle and a few other people, and Emily stayed with Debbie, Katie and Reese. Later in the morning, all the girls came over to Katie and Brent's to visit. They were all pretty amused by Kinley and Molly, Katie & Brent's dog.
After that, we all got showered and headed to Manor to eat lunch with Pawpaw. The restaurant was a little busy, so we couldn't push tables together to make one big place to sit. We ended up sitting in 3 different places, so we didn't get to visit all that much, and I didn't take a single picture while we were there. We had fun, though, and headed back home after lunch. It was a great weekend!

Owen's Birthday
Today was Owen's birthday, and his party was at Bouncin' Bears. Last year, Kinley slept through most of his party, as she was only a couple of months old. We wondered if she would have fun running around and playing this year. We stopped and ate a quick dinner at Chick-fil-a first.
When we got to the party, Kinley was anxious to get down and start running around. Most of the floor is covered with foam mats, and she loved walking around on that floor. We tried putting her on a couple of the bouncy things that are for toddlers, but she wasn't too sure about it all. She went down the big slide a couple of times with John, but mostly just enjoyed running around the floor. So, we spent our time chasing her! She did take some time out to enjoy a cupcake!!
Happy birthday Owen! I can't believe he's already 7!!!

Father's Day 2013
Today was Father's Day, and we had a great day! We got up and went to church in the morning. We had been up late the night before, so we were looking forward to a nap after church. We got home and ate some sandwiches for a light lunch, and then we all took a little nap. Andrew had wanted to take Bob out for Father's Day. Instead of going all the way to Austin, we decided to meet in New Braunfels. Bob decided he wanted Olive Garden, so we headed there for an early dinner. Cory, Rachel, Emily and Brent also met us. The service was VERY slow, so it took us quite a while to eat. I was surprised at how well Kinley did sitting in a high chair that long. She never really got fussy until the end, and we were there almost 2 hours.
Once we were all stuffed, we headed back to my mom's house. We sat around visiting for the rest of the evening, and made plans for Monday. The frame we made for John wasn't ready to be picked up until Monday, so we needed to go get it.
Bob and John wanted to see the new Superman movie, and I wanted to go shop at the Carter's clearance sale. All of these places were in the same general area, so we headed out Monday morning. We dropped John and Bob off at the movie theater. Then we went to Wal-Mart so I could print a picture for John's frame. After that, we went to the Carter's store to shop a little bit. When we were finished there, we went to pick up the picture frame. The pottery place was right across the street from the movie theater. Kinley fell asleep in the car, so we found a shady spot to park and just sat and waited for their movie to finish. After we picked up Bob and John, we decided to go eat lunch. We decided on Alamo Café, which my friends and I loved in college, but I hadn't eaten at since then. My mom and Bob had never been. It was just as delicious as I remember! We had a great lunch, and then headed back so we could get packed up to go home.
We had a really great week in La Vernia! I'm glad we were able to spend this time out there as a family.
Our sweet girl was so tired by the time we got home!

Cousins
Tonight Cory, Rachel and Emily came out to my mom's house for dinner. I had brought Kinley's McCoy's shirt that she can finally wear. I told Rachel that Kinley was going to have her shirt, so she convinced Emily to wear hers, too. We got some cute pictures of the girls wearing their matching shirts.
We had a yummy dinner, and hung out visiting. Gran had bought the girls lollipops at the store - a first for Kinley. She seemed to like it, and made sure to rub it all over her hair!
Once we thought the girls had enough sugar in their systems, we have them a bath together. They were both up way too late, but we had a good time! It's fun that they are starting to have fun together. Even though Kinley can't really play on Emily's level yet, she is fascinated by older kids and loves to chase her around. I hope that they continue to have fun together as they get older.
