My mom's best friend Lana has recently become a grandma to twins! Lana's daughter, Lindsay (who I grew up with) had her babies, Flynn and Abigail, in February. We were supposed to go see them over Spring Break, but Kinley came down with a stomach bug, so we had to cancel. We made plans with them to go out today and finally meet the babies. My mom keeps Emily on Fridays, so she picked her up and then we all had breakfast together.
Then, the girls played together while my mom and I got ready to go.
We had told Lana that we would bring lunch with us. So, we stopped and got chicken and headed over to their house. The babies were SO adorable! It brought back so many memories to hold little babies so tiny. When Kinley was their age, I was getting ready to go back to work. It seems like ages ago!
What amused me the most was that Kinley seemed to have no problem with me holding other babies. She was so busy "exploring" (i.e. getting into trouble) that she never even seemed to notice! It was so cute, though, when they were napping, she went over and was rocking Abigail in her little cradle. Maybe she will make a good big sister some day. :-)
Once Kinley and Emily seemed ready for naps, we went ahead and got out of their hair. It was already getting so late in the afternoon, that we decided to just take Emily home, instead of meeting Rachel at their usual meeting spot. We got there a little before Rachel, so we just let the girls play for a little while. And by play, I mean that Kinley made a big mess of Emily's toys, especially by pulling all the books off of her bookshelf.
After Rachel got home, we visited for a few minutes, and then headed out so we could get some dinner. We went to pick John up (Bob had a fish fry at church) and then went to Seguin to have Mexican food.
We had a fun day visiting with old friends and seeing new babies! I love babies!!
